Founded by the firm’s partners in 2018, Instituto Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga (Instituto Mattos Filho) seeks to promote law and strengthen access to justice in Brazil. A groundbreaking initiative in the Brazilian legal sector, it looks to make positive long-term social impacts that contribute to a freer, more diverse and more democratic society.

As an initiative totally independent from the firm itself, Instituto Mattos Filho is financed by the annual donations of over 110 of Mattos Filho’s partners. It is also supported by 20% of the annual income of an independent investment fund that relies on contributions from the partners and the firm, allowing Instituto Mattos Filho to carry out its work sustainably into the future.
