In 2022, Instituto Mattos Filho, Civicus and Politize established a joint project titled Tributos e Desigualdade (Taxation and Inequality). The project aims to provide a plain, accessible explanation of Brazil’s tax system and analyze how its structure affects inequality in Brazil. Given the upcoming tax reforms that are set.to take place in Brazil in the next few years, it is as opportune a moment as ever for people to learn more about this topic.
